Anne and Brant were recently married at the fabulous Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah. The weather was ideal for December and the setting, flowers, friends and family were all wonderful. Most of all, it was my pleasure to photograph, Anne and Brant, two of the most charming, warm, kind and fun folks around. Two people were never more made for one another. Danielle and Bruce were recently married at the beautiful Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah. I really enjoyed getting to know these guys; we clicked from the first time they walked into my office and photographing their wedding was a real pleasure. Danielle and Bruce are a couple who are clearly great friends and who deeply love one another. I really love this set of images and I think that along with all the beauty and splendor, their feelings for one another really come though. Wishing these guys a lifetime of joy and happiness!

Rotarian Magazine: Wings of Angels Foundation.

I was recently asked by the Rotary International Magazine to document the efforts of rotary club members of Logan, Utah and Douglas, Arizona, whose members work in conjunction with the Wings of Angels Foundation. These groups and foundation, have for the past decade, built and repaired houses, provided low-cost solar water heaters, and improved emergency medical services for the desperately poor and sick in Agua Prieta, Mexico, a community of 200,000 beset by drug cartels, violence, and grinding poverty. This trip to the border town of Agua Prieta was eye-opening, astonishing and filled with despair and beauty.

Suzanne and Dennis: Wedding Photography at the Stein Eriksen Lodge.

Suzanne and Dennis had a wonderful wedding weekend in Park City, Utah. From their base at the magnificent Montage Deer Valley to the always-remarkable Stein Eriksen Lodge, it was a weekend full of family, friends, beauty, celebration and love. I never take for granted the honor of being asked to capture all of these things and I love the images we made together. The bird set is definitely in the all-time classic category. The weekend was planned by the peerless crew from Soiree Productions and special thanks to my second shooter, David Daniels, and to the management and staffs of both the Montage and Stein Eriksen.

Flashes of Hope: Photography for Childhood Cancer Patients.

I spent a beautiful morning last week at Camp Hobe with a great group of camp staff, fabulous photographers and uber-amazing kids. As volunteers for Flashes of Hope we were able to offer our services to over 100 children and their siblings currently being treated for childhood cancer. Flashes of Hope is a nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses see themselves through the gift of photography and raises money for pediatric cancer research. This was a truly heart-warming morning and I must thank this lively group of kids for being so wonderful. Please consider a donation to Flashes of Hope.

Standard Optical: 100 Years and Going Strong

It’s not very often that a company survives and thrives for 100 years; it’s even more rare when this company has remained a family business all those years. Such is the case of Standard Optical. Founded in Salt Lake City in 1911 by Henry Schubach, Standard Optical is still owned and operated by the Schubach family. To celebrate its history, advances, contributions and most significantly, its employees, the company put on an amazing party at the stunning McCune Mansion in Salt Lake City. I was fortunate enough to be asked to photograph the event. It’s companies like Standard Optical that keep the local economy vibrant and make major contributions to the betterment of our community. Once again, the excellent crew from event planners extraordinaire Soiree Productions pulled it all together.

Utah Family Photography: Millcreek Canyon

I recently had the chance to meet and photograph the lovey Carlin family. We had one of the few nice spring days of the season and Millcreek Canyon was the prefect outdoor setting for these guys. The Ogden Marathon — Images By Air

For the third year in a row, I was asked by the GOAL Foundation to document the Ogden Marathon in scenic Ogden, UT. It’s a beautiful race that beings high in the Ogden Valley, follows the Ogden River through beautiful rolling hills and snow-capped peaks, circles the Pineview Reservoir and descends through the winding Ogden Canyon. This year, as was fitting for The Day of Rapture, I photographed the race from a helicopter. Mike from Whirly Bird Helicopters was an excellent pilot, perfectly navigating and positioning the bird. This bird’s-eye-view gives an excellent feel for the beauty of the course and the vast territory that the runners cover.

Scarlett and Nick: Winter Wedding at the Stein Eriksen Lodge

I was very fortunate to be the photographer for Scarlett and Nick’s winter wedding at the always-gorgeous and elegant Stein Eriksen Hotel and Lodge in Park City, Utah. These guys and their families were a pleasure to work with and I am thrilled with the images from start to finish. Pam Dion Events did am amazing job with planning and decor and Shelley and the crew from Orchid Dynasty provided, as they always do, incredible floral arrangements, bouquets and flourishes. Scarlett and Nick clearly belong together and we wish them a wonderful journey.

Not often does one get to photograph a beautiful winter wedding at the Sundance Resort, in soft snowfall and with a group of ridiculously fun Southerners. I had just this opportunity a couple of weeks ago and it was spectacular. I love this set of images, some of my all-time favorites and working with Jenny, Michael and the rest of the gang was a blast.

Yashoda and Kevin’s Hindu wedding ceremony was held at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Friends and family from literally all over the world came to celebrate the occasion. It was an honor to be the photographer for this beautiful, cultural and heart-felt day and night. I love the tradition and ceremony and styles of Indian weddings and this one was truly memorable. The love and fun was enjoyed by all, and young and old alike danced the night away. I think the images really reflect this special day. Special thanks to my second photographer extraordinaire, David Daniels, and to Yashoda and Kevin’s wonderful families. Most of all, congratulations to Yashoda and Kevin…a great couple who clearly belong together.

Yashoda and kevin’s weekend wedding celebration kicked off on a Friday night at the The Point Restaurant and Reception Center in the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The setting was perfect for this celebration with blue skies and picturesque views high above the city. The ceremony was perfect with interesting light and everyone in great spirits…it was the perfect lead-up to the traditional Indian ceremony to be held the following night at the Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. So much fun working with these guys and being the photographer for all their wedding festivities.
