Photopainting: Transformations Explained

with one comment

I’ve been asked by some folks to explain the “photopainting” process. In a nutshell, I like to say it is where the documentary aspect of a photograph meets the freedom and expression of painting. I take an original photograph, taken by me or provided by a client, and transform it using various techniques…simultaneously breaking the image down and building it back up. In short, it takes an image of one of your most prized possessions (your horse!) and makes it into a beautiful piece of large-scale wall art printed on premium art canvas. Rather than go into much more detail, I’ll just show a couple of transformations.
