Kids of Summer

I’m taking a break from the usual work postings to show off a few of the family kids and fellow travelers from our annual sojourn to Truro, MA. As usual, with this sort of photography, I am heavily influenced by one of my favorite photographers, Sally Mann. If you are interested in having your own family photographed, please check out my portrait company at Utah Portrait Arts.

Equine Art acquired by the Ritz-Carlton, Vail.

I’m very excited to announce that a set of five of my equine photopaintings has been acquired by the new Ritz-Carlton in Vail, CO. Many thanks to all involved (especially Kate) for seeing this sale through. Here’s the press release from the art consulting company:

“Congratulations to Nick Sokoloff and Kate Dardine, whose images were chosen to be part of the new Ritz-Carlton Residences in Vail, Colorado. This order represents our largest so far, and consists of four original paintings, 120 fine art paper giclées and five large (33.5 x 53.5″) canvas giclées.

How did we get the order? Kate directed the consultant to the AFC gallery to find more work, and after considering a few images, Nick Sokoloff’s “Across the Plains” was chosen. This is a big opportunity for all of us – because this consultant works with large upscale hotels across the country. We are working hard to ensure that she is pleased with us in every way – and that we stay on her radar for upcoming projects!”

Photopainting: Two New Works

Just finished these two pieces. Interesting that they both started out as xrays. One obviously of a coupe kissing, the other, now abstracted, of a torso. To see more visit my website at:  www.nicksokoloff.com
